Blogging and Scholarship
Orin Kerr has some discussion and links at Volokh to summaries of a recent panel at the AALS conference on Blogging: Scholarship or Distraction. There seems to have been some good discussion. What I want to know is why there are so few scholars of Judaic studies blogging? While I would agree with some of the pitfalls of blogging discussed in the panel (e.g. bittul Torah [=wasting time and not studying Torah or maybe in the case of the panel Black's Law Dictionary]), I also think that it presents a wonderful forum for both scholarly self-expression and also scholarly interaction. So you scholars of Judaic Studies out there, if any of you are reading this, get blogging!
