From the SOY Seforim Sale
This morning I made a quick visit to the SOY Seforim Sale. Besides the usual merchandise, a few new and “clearance” books which are worth mentioning. First of all, a new type-set edition of the Arukh haShulhan has finally been published. I think that it was around 12-13 volumes, and included some halakhot of the Mishnah Berurah at the bottom. Also Tuvia’s in Monsey has published a few tractates of the Talmud with a new type-set and also a vocalized Gemara text and Rashi. The tractates which I saw were Berachot, Megillah, Kiddushin and Baba Metzia. Some of them also included the traditional printings of the Rosh and Rif. I picked up Marvin Heller’s Printing the Talmud published by Im haSefer for $50. They also had Yosef Hayyim Yerushalmi’s Haggadah and History for $50. I also bought R. Yisrael Shepinski’s HaTakkanot beYisrael at the incredible price of $20! They also had the Maharam of Rothenberg’s Teshuvot, Pesakim, uMinhagim ed. by Kahana for $30 (or $35). I got this last year. These two sets were both with the regular merchandise but marked as “clearance” and are well worth the money. Besides a new humash with Rashi for the family and a few CD’s these were all I bought. I am sure that there were some things which I missed and are worth mentioning.
