Thanks for the link to the article. If the photograph is recent, it is interesting to note that R. Ronski is armed. This is not a small thing since usually chaplains are unarmed and considered non-combatants. See here and here. I think that it is great for chaplains to take a more active concern about the spiritual lives of soldiers, but if the article from Haaretz is correct, it seems that the new chief rabbi’s political views are also being incorporated into what the new Rav Tzevai and Rabbanut Tzevait is all about.
