French Bibliographic Database
While doing an on-line search I came across an excellent bibliographic search engine from the National Center for Scientific Research in France. The database is from the Cat.instit and can be found here.
Cat.inist [is access to] about 15 million bibliographic records (back to 1973) of documents held in the INIST/CNRS collections and covering all fields of worldwide research in Science, Technology, Medicine, Humanities and Social Sciences.
What is very helpful about the database is that it not only shows the bibliographic details, but also an abstract of the article.
Update: I forgot to add that one of the good things about this bibliographical database is that it includes articles from Israeli journals written in Hebrew such as Tarbitz, Zion, and Cathedra, although how the journal titles are written isn’t consistent, e.g. Trbys=Tarbitz.
