Midrash by Women
There’s a new book, דרשוני, of midrashim by women. Here are a few. I particularly liked this one.
“כל מצות הבן המוטלות על האב לעשות לבנו – אנשים חייבין, ונשים פטורות. תנינא להא, דתנו רבנן: האב חייב בבנו למולו, ולפדותו, וללמדו תורה, ולהשיאו אשה, וללמדו אומנות. ויש אומרים: אף להשיטו במים” (תלמוד בבלי, מסכת קידושין כט, ע”א).
“נשים פטורות”, ואף שאינן מצוּוֹת – עושות, דהכי קרינן בציפורה ובחוה ובבת-שבע ובהגר וברבקה וביוכבד:
“למול” מנלן? מציפורה, דכתיב: ‘וַתִּקַּח צִפֹּרָה צֹר וַתִּכְרֹת אֶת עָרְלַת בְּנָהּ’ (שמות ד, כה).
“לפדותו” מנלן? מחוה, דכתיב: ‘וַתֹּאמֶר קָנִיתִי אִישׁ אֶת ה” (בראשית ד, א).
“ללמדו תורה” מנלן? מבת-שבע, דכתיב: ‘דִּבְרֵי לְמוּאֵל מֶלֶךְ, מַשָּׂא אֲשֶׁר יִסְּרַתּוּ אִמּוֹ’ (משלי לא, א), ואומר: ‘אַל תִּטֹּשׁ תּוֹרַת אִמֶּךָ’ (שם, א, ח).
“להשיאו אשה” מנלן? מהגר, דכתיב: ‘וַתִּקַּח לוֹ אִמּוֹ אִשָּׁה מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם’ (בראשית כא, כא).
“ללמדו אומנות” מנלן? מרבקה, דכתיב: ‘לֶךְ נָא אֶל הַצֹּאן וְקַח לִי מִשָּׁם שְׁנֵי גְּדָיֵי עִזִּים טֹבִים’ (שם, כז, ט).
“להשיטו במים” מנלן? מיוכבד, דכתיב: ‘וַתָּשֶׂם בָּהּ אֶת הַיֶּלֶד וַתָּשֶׂם בַּסּוּף עַל שְׂפַת הַיְאֹר’ (שמות ב, ג).

Are these midrashim that were written by women, or focus on women?

I didn’t recognize any of the names. I am not sure if you could get it in America. The best bet is to probably find someone who is visiting Israel and ask them to try and pick it up for you. Maybe this store might be able to get it.

Cute drash! But terrible feel for language. Where do you find “osos” in Midrash? [maybe you can find an example or two with CD ROM, but it's not the way a real mIdrash would speak.]

That is the whole point, or at least one of them. I think that the form is very true to midrash, in this case midrash halakhah, but the content is intentionally different.
