Josephus Edges Out Pirkei Avot
A while back I posted about the success of Avigdor Shinan’s commentary on Pirkei Avot and its place on the non-fiction best seller list in Israel. I was reading an op-ed piece in Yisrael ha-Yom and it turns out that Pirkei Avot has been overtaken by the new translation of Josephus’s Wars of the Jews. You’ve got to love it. In first place, a modern midrash on female characters in the Tanakh. Not far behind, Josephus, who’s been on the best seller list sixteen weeks, and hanging in there after forty weeks is Pirkei Avot.

you have a typo in your headline, and you ought to mention the other josephus bestseller book, the last ember by daniel levin, what a book!
