Artscroll Talmud Goes Digital-Updated
A reliable source of mine has written on Facebook that Artscroll has announced a digital edition of the Artscroll Talmud that will be available before the next Daf Yomi cycle begins in August. This has tremendous potential. Details to follow.
Update: Thanks to the link by Steven in the comments below, you can see the video promo here. It has some very nice features such as the ability to color code sections and the comments integrate well with the text.
Update II: The above link is broken, but here’s the official release of the video.

This is their iBooks initiative, right?

I’m not so sure this is going to be so fantastic as you claim, in part because shomer-Shabbos Jews won’t be able to use it on Shabbos or Yomtov, and in part because iTalmud offers similar functionality for $25 on the iPhone or $30 on the iPad.

Theophrastus,
I agree that we have to wait and see what it will actually be, that’s why I wrote that it has “tremendous potential.” In the next day or two a video will hopefully be released that will provide more details. I have iTalmud and think that it is very good, but the big difference is that this will have the Artscroll translation and commentary.

Unfortunately, by the time I went to that link, Youtube was already reporting that the video had been removed by the user.
