I am currently reading the volume (in Ivrit) on Rabi Akiva and his colleagues. Volume 2 of the series, I think. His style is very readable, his scholarship impressive, and his novel insights subtle yet convincing. A rare find!

I also have the Hebrew volumes and agree that they are very good. Maybe we’ll see a continuation into the Amoraic period, although I am not sure.
