Film-The Rabbi’s Daughter
The Rabbi’s Daughter, בת הרב, is a documentary about three daughters of three different national-religious rabbis in Israel who have chosen to live a life that is different from the house in which they were raised. There is no connection between this film and the book, The Rabbi’s Daughter.

Thanks. That was painful to watch – as a father, as a teacher, and as a friend of of one of the rabbis.

It took a lot of courage for the daughters to appear on this film. And a lot for the fathers and mothers, as well. Not too many rabbis would be willing to do that.

The parents understand
The children do not yet understand

Shuly, I think it is too simplistic to say that the parents understand but the children not yet. The parents are very slow on the uptake as you can see, and the kids catch that. The kids catch a lot. This whole subject is a work in progress.
