Hi. Back in 1992 while researching the holdings at Columbia for my annotated bibliography of commentaries and translations of Pirke Avot, 1485-2012 (currently being edited for publication), I came across a manuscript which appears to be the prepublicaton “for the printer” version of the CHIDA’s SHEM HAGEDOLIM, the very first edition of his famous bibliography. The writing and pagination, in a small page format is exactly as it appeared in print in Livorno 1774 (see wiki: Chaim Yosef David Azulai). This little volume also contains the first edition of Chida’s commentary on Avot. I presume this manuscript will be on display at the Columbia exhibition, which I just learned of on your site. Take Care, Steve

I’m looking forward to the publication of your book. I’m not sure what will be displayed at the exhibition, we’ll have to wait and see.
