One of the more accessible books in the field of practical halakhah is Rabbi Eliezer Melamed’s Peninei Halakhah. The series is very popular and a new and enlarged version on the laws of Shabbat has just been released. Much of this series can be viewed here.

have you seen the latest edition of Shmirat Shabbat Kihichata with many new rulings and printed in China no less

I haven’t seen it. I already have the 1st and 2nd editions, is another one worth it? I still have to get the latest volumes of Hazon Ovadiah which are much more important.

lot of new hidushim and up to date on new technology – I have even noted some interesting leniancies. Which Hazon Ovadiah’s are you missing?
I just had my son pick up the revised first volume of Yalkut Yosef Shabbat but alas I will not see it to tekk you about it until July.
I also had the kids pick up the new Pininei Halacha but that also I will not be able to peruse until my stay in America has ended.
