Rabbi Amsalem is at it Again
Member of Knesset Rabbi Chaim Amsalem of Shas has apparently written another halakhic work on a controversial topic. See here for a short discussion about his book on conversion. According to Kikar ha-Shabbat, (hat tip), Rabbi Amsalem has written about the current controversy, scandal might be a better description, over the building of a fortified emergency room for Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon. Rabbi Amsalem claims that there is absolutely no reason why the fortified emergency room shouldn’t be built. Rabbi Amsalem’s book received an approbation from Rabbi Meir Mazuz of Yeshivat Kissei Rachamim.

How is he so prolific? When does he have time to write books so fast? Wouldn’t you think the Knesset would keep him busy?

JID:
have you ever sat in on a kenesset session? usually few MKs are actually present. and those who do attend are often not really particapating. you see them talking on cell phones, waking around, talking to other MKs.
it’s quite an amazing site to see.

Has R’ Ovadiah Yosef given his opinion on this?

Can anyone suggest a way to order Rav Amsalem’s “Zera Yisrael”? I have been looking for it since January with no success. Even sent an e-mail to his Knesset address with no reply. If anyone has details for how to get a copy that would be amazing.

You would think that actual Knesset sessions would be only a small part of the job though.

Beigelisen in Boro Park had a few copies but they were something like 75 dollars IIRC
