Notice the clothes. Those students who wear jackets are wearing tan-colored ones. The only black outfit seen is Rav Schach’s. So why do Lithuanian yeshiva students all wear black jackets and black hats today? I’m not sure, but one reason might be the “chassidization” of the misnagdim.

I spoke to a talmid of Rav Shach. It is definitely him, not “apparently”.
