Wait, You’re Not Jewish?
One of the more talked about political ads from this year’s Israeli elections is the following from Shas:
The video has already been removed from the nightly broadcast of political ads, but it has generated a lot of discussion in Israel. One result is a large number of spoofs on the line, “Wait, you’re not Jewish?” There is even an entire Facebook group “רגע, את לא יהודיה?” devoted to them. (HT) Here are a few of them.
This last one was from another Facebook group and features the Biblical Ruth and Boaz.

The problem is that the original is so utterly beyond any conceivable parody that even the Ruth and Boaz pastiche pales in comparison.

It is a horrendous video and Shas was on the defensive over it. The more they tried to explain it the worse it sounded. A simple “We made a mistake” would have been best.
