War on Torah Brings Missiles

Just in case you were wondering why missiles are being fired at Israel, the Lithuanian Haredi newspaper Yated Neeman’s front page has the answer: “War on Torah: War in the South.”

You do have to admit that it is a pretty uncanny coincidence.

maybe if we had more soldiers…

    Reb Chaim HaQoton,

I could also interpret it that it’s a pretty uncanny coincidence that right after much of the Haredi public reaffirms its stance that they believe they are exempt from defending Israel when it is attacked, Israel is indeed attacked. Apparently Yated Neeman’s internet connection is so good that somehow they are able to ascertain how God works in the world.

Since Torah learning is really what protects Israel, the proper response is for chareidi yeshivot to move to the area where the missiles are actually striking.

The Charedim are their own worst enemies. Even people like Lapid and Lipman, who are both underhanded and vile self-promoters, look better when contrasted with the charedim.

Reb Chaim – its no coincidence at all. Missles are (unfortunately) fired at Israel all the time. The only lesson is, if you don’t hit back hard enough, with “disproportionate force”, they will just keep on attacking.
